ToggleMultiplexing is a method in communication technology to provide a transmission path (signal line) for several transmitters for optimal use.
In electronics, a multiplexer (also called a mux or data selector) is a circuit that selects a signal among several analog or digital input signals and passes this selected input signal to a single output line.
Conversely, a demultiplexer (or demux) is a circuit that has a single input and passes the input signal to the corresponding output line as indicated by the associated multiplexer.
A multiplexer is often used with a complementary demultiplexer on the receive side.
Multiplexer - how it works
We consider the operation of a 1-mux or 2-bit to 1-bit data selector, which has only one control input for two data inputs. The structure of logic gates can be derived from the switching table:
