An electrical source transformation is a method for simplifying circuits by replacing a voltage source with its equivalent current source, or vice versa.

According to the Thévenin and Norton theorems, any linear voltage source can also be viewed as a linear current source. Which circuit you use depends on which ideal form describes the behavior of your circuit in more detail.
